Introducing Meatball!

About two weeks ago, Kathy and I adopted a pudgy little chocolate lab. I've been wanting to get a dog "since ever since" but I was always precluded from pet ownership due to having a cool apartment with a not-so-cool animal policy.

That all changed when we inked a deal on a new place that allowed us the freedom of having the pet of our choice. Meatball came home with us before we moved into the new digs and it didn't take long for that fat little ball of fur to get used to living close to about as close to Pau Pau Beach as you can get.

While I had to sacrifice the cush beach side apartment, I finally have a four-legged friend of my own to wrestle around with. Kathy and I are loving our little Meatball, but that relationship comes with a few less than smiley moments as well.

So far we haven't had anything chewed to bits, but I know it's coming. Finding little presents on the floor in the morning left by someone other than Santa Claus isn't as exciting as you would think either.

That's all part of the process, but I'm liking it just fine. Here's a little video that Kathy put together before we brought Meatball home for good. I think if she new about the "presents" that Kathy might have left out the "miracle with paws" part of the video.

Labs are high-energy dogs-- also my favorite breed-- I used to "have" to run mine for at least a mile or two most nights because I didn't have a yard. He was most polite: kept running back to see what my problem was.

meatball isn't a fan of the leash so walking her isn't a joy just yet. we took her to the street market last week and i had to carry her just about all of the time.

now she's getting bigger. it's almost as if she's twice as big as she was two weeks ago. oh wait, she literally is!

Congrats on the dog. As soon as your goddaughter gets a bit older, we're getting one again.
